One-Price Package with Aurora Bariatrics (OPPAB)

Developed in collaboration with St John of God Murdoch Hospital, Aurora Bariatrics is pleased to be able to offer a fixed-price hospital package for uninsured sleeve gastrectomy. 

What is a “fixed price package”?

For uninsured patients, the new “fixed price hospital package” gives a known fee for all hospital fees for a sleeve gastrectomy, of $21,499. 

What does it include?

This includes the Surgeon's clinic AND procedure fee, all prostheses used during the procedure and a TWO-NIGHT stay at St John of God Murdoch Hospital. It also includes all post-operative surgeon and physician appointments.

* Hospital Fee including Two Night Stay, Theatre, Prosthesis fees

* Surgical Clinic Fee

* Anaesthetic Fee

* Assistant Fee

* Postoperative Surgical consultations

* Postoperative Bariatric GP consultations

What does it NOT include?

The fixed-price hospital package does not include -  pre-operative appointments, dietetic aftercare and discharge medications.

Am I a candidate?

This package is available to patients who are:

• age 18-55 years
• BMI less than 45
• Weight up to 150kg
• No more than two significant medical issues (that may increase the risk of ICU stay)
• Medicare registered
• Surgeon approved

Surgeon Approval - requires approval of Aurora's bariatric Surgeon and our bariatric physician. During your consultation with the Surgeon, we will give you a complete and comprehensive report of your sleeve risk/benefit calculator, personalised to you. The initial Surgeon consultation will need to be an in-person consultation; all other appointments can be done via Telehealth.

When does it start?

We are able to take bookings from January 16, 2023

What happens in July 2023?

The current price is fixed until July 2023 when prosthesis costs are due to be reviewed.

What if I want another procedure?

This package is only available for patients who would like to have a sleeve gastrectomy. If you’re thinking about a gastric bypass, band revision or other surgery, please contact Aurora Bariatrics directly.
