After Surgery: What next?
At Aurora Bariatrics, we strongly recommend all bariatric patients undergo follow-up with the weight loss team, especially in the first 12 months then annual follow-up with your referring physician.

Your Aftercare Program
After your surgery, your doctor will guide you towards a personalised Aftercare Plan.
For weight loss surgery, the aftercare program will usually cost ~$700 prior to private health/Medicare rebate.
Fees:
* All Surgical consultations, surgical adjuncts (including the Welcome Pack and Hospital Pack), and any further surgical procedures for up to 2 years are included in the Clinic fee
* Dietetic and Physician reviews have varying fee schedules; please contact the individual provider for quotes.
Your surgeon will refer you on for the below schedule when your date of surgery is confirmed.
Aurora recommends the following AfterCare Program:
- Dietetic review x 5 appointments (2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months)
- Loren Muhlmann (Telehealth), or
- Ana Orozco/Louise Campbell, Amity Dietetics (Albany/Mt Barker/Denmark/Telehealth)
- Surgeon review x 2 appointments at 3 weeks and 3 months (Murdoch/Mount/Telehealth)
- Physician review x 2 appointments at 6 months and 12 months
- Dr Imran Badshah, or
- Dr Jaina Chauhan
